Welcome Parents to Grade 1 and 2 French.

My name is Lyn-Anne Cote and it is my pleasure to be your child's French teacher this year. I am a mother of 3 young children, 2 boys, 1 girl. I have lots of energy and I love singing and dancing, reading and writing with your children.

A lot of research and thought has gone into the physical set up of our classroom. I have set up our classroom to be a relaxed neutral coloured environment, with flexible seating. I have strategically added some specific colours in the classroom in order to promote creativity, tranquility, balance. My classroom is very minimalist in its decorations to avoid any unnecessary distractions. The students have the opportunity to chose to work in a variety of work stations.  So far, it has proven to be beneficial to many of the students.

When teaching, I incorporate a variety of teaching strategies on a daily basis in order to make learning French enjoyable and fun. We do dances, movement activities, games, songs, many oral activities, various reading activities large and small groups and writing activities. My goal is to offer students a variety of opportunities for French speaking where they will become confident learners motivated to practice, to apply and to use the vocabulary and sentence structures they have learned.
